Course Overview
The Xactly Incent Compensation Plan Configuration course is designed to provide super users, including compensation administrators, plan designers and application support professionals, with knowledge and experience defining, analyzing, setting up, testing and deploying compensation plans in Xactly Incent. Through lecture and hands-on lab exercises, students will learn best practices for setting up and deploying efficient and effective compensation plans with minimum amount of time and effort.
Course Objectives
- Provide a solid understanding of the Xactly Incent process, objects and their relationships for application configuration
- Develop essential skills required to configure, test and deploy compensation elements and compensation plans in Xactly Incent
- Provide best practices for setting up plans that are efficient, reusable and easy to maintain
Target Audiences
- Compensation Administrators, Compensation Plan Designers and Application Support Professionals who are responsible for configuring incentive compensation plans in Xactly Incent.
Prerequisites
- Xactly Incent Administration Workshop or equivalent application experience
- Familiarity with your company's comp plan details
- Working knowledge of Incentive Compensation
- Experience using web based applications
- Working knowledge of Excel

Classroom - 2 days, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

This is an instructor-led workshop will include the following key topics
Day 1 – Overview and basic plan configuration
The first section of this course will instruct students in plan review and introduce them to the Xactly Incent configuration and calculation processes. Additionally student will learn about specific Xactly Incent objects used to create plans in the application.

- Plan Review and Analysis
- Review a sample comp plan
- Identify key components in the plan
- Plan Design Overview
- Map plan components to Xactly Incent objects
- Understand the data dependencies when setting up various objects
- Application Configuration
- Describe the steps to create the Xactly Incent objects
- Describe specific details about how these objects work
- Configuration Testing
- Define Types of Testing processes
Day 2
Section 2 - Advanced Plan Configuration
In this section students will have an opportunity to review a more complex incentive compensation plan. They will identify and create all the necessary Xactly Incent objects to configure this plan, upload orders and test the configuration. This section of the course focuses on the reusing objects and adding additional plans to an existing configuration.

- Plan Review and Analysis
- Plan Design
- Map plan components to Xactly Incent objects considering the existing objects
- Design Roll-ups, Variable Rates, Multiple Rule Conditions and Accelerators
- Design a Bonus Plan
- Application Configuration
- Describe the steps to create the additional Xactly Incent objects needed to support the Sales Managers Plan
- Describe specific details about how these additional objects work
- Configuration Testing
Section 3 - Self-Paced Plan Configuration
In this section of the course, students will use their current knowledge of plan configuration and Xactly Incent best practices to review, configure and test an additional compensation plan. This portion of the course is designed to further enhance the student's configuration skills and to increase their application knowledge in a structured and supportive environment.

- Plan Review and Analysis
- Plan Design
- Map plan components to Xactly Incent objects considering the existing objects
- Design a Bonus Plan based on Quantity measurements
- Design Overlays, Flat Bonus Payments based on quarterly attainment, and multiple results on Rules
- Application Configuration
- Describe the steps to create the additional Xactly Incent objects needed to support the Sales Engineer Plan
- Describe specific details about how these additional objects work
- Configuration Testing
