I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t anxious. My very first CompCloud is approaching! But I’d also be lying if I said I wasn’t excited. My colleagues have certainly built up the anticipation – one told me about her first CompCloud – nearly 7 years ago! It was her first week at Xactly, and it happened to fall on our event. She was completely captivated by Chris Cabrera’s keynote, and it’s a memory she continues to look back on. But what about those of us who haven’t been before? How do we know what to expect? I have you covered. As a CompCloud newbie, I’m going to share 5 things I’m excited for at CompCloud 2017

Amy Purdy

Our guest keynote speaker this year is Amy Purdy, an extraordinary person, with an inspiring story to share. At the young age of 19, Amy was diagnosed with Meningococcal Meningitis and became a double amputee shortly after, losing both her legs. Since this emotional and physical rollercoaster, Amy has continued to blaze the trail for those with disabilities…literally. Pushing beyond all limitations, Amy entered the USASA National Snowboarding Championship where she won several medals. Today, she is a top-ranked adaptive snowboarder, and is recognized worldwide. She won the bronze medal in the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games for snowboarding. She and her husband Daniel Gale founded Adaptive Action Sports, an organization focused on creating opportunities for individuals with physical disabilities to be involved with action sports. Off the mountain, she’s a renowned public speaker, has a popular TED talk, and a best-selling book, On My Own Two Feet. I’m so thrilled at the chance to hear Amy speak on Day 1 at CompCloud.

Connecting with the Experts

The most common advice I’ve gotten about CompCloud is to take advantage of the networking opportunities. Our 3-day event is designed so attendees can meet and greet with fellow Xactlians, loyal customers, and future customers. In my 8 months at Xactly, I’ve learned a lot about the world of incentive compensation and sales performance management. Since I’m involved in our company’s social media program as well as our advocacy program, I have day-to-day access of the latest goings-on of our partners, and other industry thought leaders. I’m thrilled at the chance to finally meet some of these people in person. Our #xactlylovesme party is set for the evening of the second day. It’ll be a great chance to have some fun, and unwind with our customers and colleagues.

FOX booth

My job at Xactly allows me to work very closely with our advocacy program, Friends of Xactly (FOX). FOX is a place where both Xactly customers and employees can hold discussions, complete challenges, share information, and learn about the latest company news. I can’t wait to be on-site with some of our loyal FOX advocates – especially those who are part of our large community of customers. If you’re coming to CompCloud - you'll find me at the FOX booth!

Keynotes: Chris Cabrera and Evan Ellis

Like I said earlier, there has been so much anticipation about the keynotes of our fearless leaders! Particularly with CEO Chris Cabrera and President and COO Evan Ellis. Chris Cabrera kicks things off on Day 1 with a look at the future of our company, special announcements, and, of course, his keynote! Our president Evan Ellis will share his keynote on Day 2, and will also lead our customer awards ceremony, which I’m really looking forward to.

San Francisco

I would be remiss to mention that having all this activity take place in the heart of the Bay Area San Francisco, is something to be excited for. Our venue for CompCloud takes place at the Hyatt on the Embarcadero, right on the water! Since the conference takes place about mid-May, the weather is expected to be just lovely. Come along with me on my CompCloud 2017 journey by following @Xactly@emmapfulcher and of course our hastags: #CC17 #xactlylovesme #inspireamazing. See you there!
