Here’s to One Year as a Public Company
Exactly a year ago today, I was sitting in a hotel room in New York for business, like so many times before. Only this time, it was different. The company I founded 11 years ago was set to go public the next day. More than a decade of work had brought me to this exact moment. So it feels especially fortuitous that precisely a year from that significant moment in the company’s history I have more exciting news to announce—Xactly was just named the number one place to work in the Bay Area by The Bay Area News Group!
As I look back on this year at Xactly I am incredibly proud of everything we’ve accomplished. If you ask any of my employees which awards I’m most honored to have won, they will all know the answer. I take the most pride in the Great Place to Work and Top Places to Work awards that we have won. These awards emphasize that the goals the founders and I set when we first started Xactly are being met. We have built a great company– one with a meaningful mission, solid financials, household name customers, dedicated employees that love what they do, and a workplace culture centered on C.A.R.E.
In just the last year we have unveiled the latest findings from Xactly Insights™, launched game-changing products like Xactly Inspire™; Prior Period Adjustments, the first out-of-the-box ability to easily adjust prior period incentive calculations; and an improved integration toolkit, Xactly ConnectTM. We’ve also donated hundreds of volunteer hours within our community, hosted a successful user event in San Francisco, and appointed our first Chief Customer Officer, Bernie Kassar to further demonstrate our unwavering commitment to our customer’s experience.
One year ago today I stood on the New York Stock Exchange platform surrounded by so many of the people that helped make Xactly a reality. For 30 seconds, I held down the bell button that would signal our IPO; and we counted down the moment I had been waiting for all these years. As I look back now, we’ve hit so many of the goals I aspired to when I first founded Xactly.
It’s thanks to our incredible customers, innovative employees, and thriving community that we’ve been able to enjoy such an incredible year. The IPO experience was one of the most memorable in my life. But it wasn’t an end game at all. It was just one stop in the long, successful journey that is Xactly. I can’t wait to see all of the inspiring things we will have accomplished one year from today.
