The Super Bowl was an exclamation mark to what can only be described as a very interesting year in football. Now that it’s over, we can turn our full attention to Awards season! The best in music will come together for the Grammy Awards on Monday, Feb. 15, while Hollywood’s finest will be honored at the Oscars on Feb. 28. Over the years, we’ve seen the wide range of emotions that come with winning — as well as losing — at these awards shows. And when you work in sales, there is no doubt certain situations conjure up a similar range and roller coaster of emotions. Such as the time …

When you had your acceptance speech ready … and your co-worker stole your thunder by announcing the big deal you just closed: 1

When you lost out on a sale to a competitor:

When you saw your competitor claiming things you knew they couldn’t deliver … and the prospect was biting:

When you thought you met your quota … but really didn’t (thanks, spreadsheets!):

4

When your boss kept asking if the customer signed the contract yet …

5

… and when that contract was finally signed:

When you got tripped up on the phone with an important prospect:

When you had the kind of day that made you just want to throw in the towel and go home:

But then you made that final sale to meet your quota …

… and everyone was pulling for you, since you work with an awesome team!

Enjoy awards season, everyone….and here’s to that unforgettable face we know you will make when you close that next sale!
