Sales are the lifeblood of any company and sales managers are a critical component in driving sales success. However, when it comes to hiring sales managers or maximizing their productivity and potential, there are a lot of common misconceptions out there. For example, the best selling sales reps often don’t make the best managers; yet they are often the ones promoted into manager positions. Leveraging a detailed big data analysis of the sales compensation practices of hundreds of companies, Carlson School of Management professor, Alan Benson and Xactly principal incentive strategist, Erik Charles will debunk common myths in hiring and retaining great sales managers.
